DMart Q2 Results: Revenue Jumps 14% to ₹14,050 Crore, Profit Climbs Nearly 8%

DMart Q2 Results Highlights

Avenue Supermarts, the parent company of DMart, reported a 14.2% year-on-year growth in standalone revenue, reaching ₹14,050 crore for the July to September 2024 quarter, according to its exchange filing on October 12. This is an increase from ₹12,308 crore in the same quarter the previous year.

The company’s net profit for Q2 of the 2024-25 fiscal was ₹710 crore, marking a 7.9% rise from ₹659 crore in the same quarter last year. The profit after tax (PAT) margin for Q2FY25 was 5.0%, down slightly from 5.3% in Q2FY24.

Avenue Supermarts' EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation, and Amortisation) for Q2FY25 was ₹1,105 crore, compared to ₹1,002 crore in the same period last year. The EBITDA margin came in at 7.9% for Q2FY25, compared to 8.1% for Q2FY24.

The company’s basic earnings per share (EPS) for Q2FY25 was ₹10.92, up from ₹10.12 in Q2FY24.

For the first half of FY25, Avenue Supermarts reported total revenue of ₹27,762 crore, an increase from ₹23,892 crore during the same period last year. EBITDA for H1FY25 stood at ₹2,326 crore.

The firm’s net profit for H1FY25 was ₹1,523 crore, compared to ₹1,354 crore in H1FY24, with a PAT margin of 5.5%, slightly lower than 5.6% in H1FY24.

DMart Management Commentary

In its results statement, Avenue Supermarts stated that D-Mart follows Everyday low cost - Everyday low price (EDLC-EDLP) strategy that aims at procuring goods at competitive prices, using operational and distribution efficiency and thereby delivering value for money to customers by selling at competitive prices.

Reflecting on the results, Neville Noronha, CEO and Managing Director, Avenue Supermarts, said: “Overall H1 FY 2025 like-for-like revenue growth was 7.4% for two years and older stores. The Q2 FY 2025 like for-like revenue growth for the same cohort of stores was at 5.5%.”

He added, “we clearly see the impact of online grocery formats including DMart Ready in large metro DMart stores which operate at a very high turnover per square feet of revenue. DMart Ready business grew by 21.8% in H1 FY 2025.”
