The Indian stock market ended in the negative territory today, with the benchmark indices closing lower due to weak global cues and concerns over foreign capital outflow. The BSE Sensex ended at 73,828.91, down by 200.85 points or 0.27%, while the Nifty 50 settled at 22,397.20, declining by 73.30 points or 0.33%.

The Centre has forwarded a summons from the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to a court in Gujarat for serving on industrialist Gautam Adani in connection with a bribery case, The Hindu reported. The newspaper cited an internal note from the Ministry of Law and Justice, dated February 25, which was sent to a sessions court.

Except Banking, all sectoral indices were in the red. Market breadth was weak as 38 of the index stocks declined. Midcap and Smallcap stocks performed worse. Their respective indices were down ~1% for the day. Among NIFTY stocks, BEL, CIPLA, SBIN and ICICIBANK were the best performers.
