On the macro-economic front, the past one week has been a rather quiet one in quite some time. No major economies announced a rate hike, and the Rupee continues to trade below the Rs 80 mark against the dollar.
Further, US inflation data, measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), came out yesterday. The inflation in July jumped 8.5% YoY as against 9.1% YoY in June. With the US CPI data out, now all eyes are set on India inflation data, which is set to be released today.
Looking at the Indian equity markets, in the last 5 trading sessions (between 05 August and 11 August), the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex climbed 1.61%, whereas NIFTY surged 1.5% in the last 5 trading sessions (between 05 August and 11 August).

Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd
The shares of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd were buzzing on the bourses this week. The rally comes ahead of the company’s Q1FY23 results, which are set to be announced today, 12 August 2022. Apart from this, no major announcement has been made by the company this week. Hence, the rally in the share price could be purely driven by the market forces. Today, the scrip opened at Rs 2277.65, and touched a high and low of Rs 2290.95 and Rs 2220, respectively.
JSW Energy Ltd
On 10 August, JSW Energy announced the acquisition of a portfolio of 1,753 MW of Renewable Energy generation capacity from Mytrah Energy (India) Private Limited (MEIPL). This acquisition was done via JSW Neo Energy Limited (JSWNEL), a wholly owned subsidiary of the company. The acquired portfolio comprises of 17 Special Purpose Vehicles (SPV) and 1 Ancillary SPV.
This acquisition is aligned with the company’s aim of reaching 10 GW capacity by FY 2025 and 20 GW capacity by FY 2030, with the share of renewable energy increasing to 85% by FY 2030. The acquisition would help the company in achieving its renewable-led capacity growth target of 10 GW by FY 2025, well ahead of time.
Piramal Enterprises Ltd
The shares of Piramal Enterprises Ltd were one of the top gainers on the bourses this week. However, no major announcement has been made by the company this week. Hence, the rally in the share price could be purely driven by the market forces. Today, the scrip opened at Rs 1913, and touched a high and low of Rs 1927 and Rs 1889.15, respectively.
