Here’s a list of the top 5 gainers and losers this week in the large-cap space.

On the macro-economic front, the past one week has been a rather quiet one in quite some time. No major economies announced a rate hike, and the Rupee continues to trade below the Rs 80 mark against the dollar.

Further, US inflation data, measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), came out yesterday. The inflation in July jumped 8.5% YoY as against 9.1% YoY in June. With the US CPI data out, now all eyes are set on India inflation data, which is set to be released today.

Looking at the Indian equity markets, in the last 5 trading sessions (between 05 August and 11 August), the frontline index S&P BSE Sensex climbed 1.61%, whereas NIFTY surged 1.5% in the last 5 trading sessions (between 05 August and 11 August).
