Here’s a list of the top 5 gainers and losers this week in the large-cap space.

The Indian economy has taken global centre stage due to its strong institutional infrastructure, demographic profile, skilled workforce, emerging middle class, entrepreneurial culture, rising productivity, resilient private sector, and rapid technological advancement.

Recently, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has prescribed regulatory norms for capital adequacy and liquidity ratios but has also gone beyond to nudge banks to build up capital buffers in good times.

The plunge in U.S.-based First Republic Bank's deposits has prompted traders to renew expectations that the Fed will shift quickly from hiking to cutting rates. The USD/INR pair has struggled to move past the Rs 81.80-81.90 zone, with market participants pointing to the likelihood of the Reserve Bank of India's presence.

Volatility has eased out going into the May 2-3 U.S. Federal Reserve meeting and could rebound sharply after the event.

When looking at the Indian stock markets, the S&P BSE Sensex, the frontline index, increased by 1.67% in the last five trading sessions, surging from 59,655.06 on April 21st to 60,649.38 on April 27th. In contrast, the Nifty50 went from 17,624.05 on April 21st to 17,915.05 on April 27th.
