Here’s a list of the top 5 gainers and losers this week in the large-cap space. 

This week has been nothing short of a roller coaster ride for markets. The volatility continues to prevail in the current situation. In the last 5 sessions, S&P BSE Sensex has declined marginally by 0.13%, whereas S&P BSE 500 fell by nearly 1.2%. 

Looking at the sectoral indices, in the last 5 trading sessions, S&P BSE Auto gained 1.85%. However, metals got hammered by 7.83%, while IT declined by nearly 3%. The earnings performance of the companies kept coming in. While some exceeded the expectations, others did not.

Container Corporation of India Ltd 

During the last 5 trading sessions, CONCOR from the large cap universe delivered the highest gains of 12.24%. In the results announced last, the net revenue during the quarter Q4FY22 grew 5.16% YoY to Rs 2057.56 crore. Owing to a decrease in other operating expenses, the PBIDT (ex OI) 112.5% YoY to Rs 415.84 crore and the PAT surged 1264% YoY to Rs 252.5 crore. The company had also announced a final dividend of Rs 3 per share, which is 60% of face value of Rs.5 each for the year 2021-22, subject to approval of the shareholders in the ensuing Annual General Meeting. 

Interglobe Aviation Ltd 

This company surged over 9% in the last 5 trading sessions. This rally could be attributed to anticipation of decent Q4FY22 results, which were announced on Wednesday. During the quarter, the net revenue went up by 28.89% YoY to Rs 8020.75 crore. However, the Omicron variant of the Covid, coupled with high fuel costs and a weakening rupee adversely impacted the company’s profitability. Post the announcement, the company’s share price declined on the bourses yesterday.    

Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd

The pharmaceutical company announced its results this week. During the quarter Q4FY22, on a consolidated basis, the net revenue increased 9.87% YoY to Rs 2104 crore. However, the profitability was marred by higher expenses. Further, the company also proposed a final dividend of Rs. 23/- (460%) per equity share of Rs 5 each including the special dividend of Rs 15 per equity share, and has also proposed a bonus issue in ratio 1:1. Both these corporate actions are subject to the approval of shareholders.
