List of top five gainers and losers this week in the Large-cap space.
Markets were feared by the inflationary pressures and rate hikes throughout the week. When the RBI is taking actions in line with Federal Reserve of US to curb the rising inflations, the stock markets across the globe have taken a hit. The earnings season too has begun and the IT sector has not performed as it was expected. In the period from Friday i.e. April 29 to May 5, the blue-chip NSE Nifty 50 index declined by 3.26% from 17,245 to 16,682. Similarly, the S&P BSE Sensex was down by 3.16% from 57,521 to 55,702.
Among the sectoral indices, S&P BSE Power (-1.18%) and S&P BSE Utilities (-1.35%) were the least impacted in the previous five trading sessions, whereas the S&P BSE Consumer Durables (-7.34%) and S&P BSE IPO (-6.03%) were among those most impacted.

Tata Chemicals Ltd:
Shares of Tata Chemicals Ltd were buzzing on the bourses this week. The scrip rose 11.19% in five trading sessions, closing at Rs 1,046 on Thursday, and was among the top gainers among the Large Caps during this period. The upside was witnessed on the back of strong Q4 results. The net sales grew by 10.8% QoQ and 32% YoY to Rs 3,480 crore. The net profit exploded by 81% sequentially and a whooping 2183% YoY to Rs 446 crore. The annual FY22 results too were significant that led the stock to be a top weekly gainer.
Solar Industries India Ltd:
Shares of this hospital chain giant Solar Industries India Ltd were among the large caps stocks that rallied the most this week, climbing 8.66% to close at Rs 2,997.95 on Thursday. Solar provides complete blasting solutions which includes packaged, bulk explosives and initiating systems across the globe. In Q4FY22, revenue grew by 66.4% YoY and 29.4% on a sequential basis. PBIDT (Ex OI) was up by 60% YoY, while PAT was up by 84% YoY.
Gujarat Gas Ltd:
Gujarat Gas Ltd was among the top performers among the large caps this week and was up by 6.64% in the last five trading sessions, closing at Rs 514 on Thursday. Gujarat Gas Limited (GGL), is India's largest City Gas Distribution. The company has India's largest customer base in residential, commercial and industrial segments. GGL is engaged in city gas distribution including sale, purchase, supply, distribution, transport, trading in natural gas, CNG, LNG, LPG & other gaseous form through pipelines, trucks/trains or such other suitable mode for transportation/distribution.
