The hawkish stance by the US Fed sent the markets world over in jitters, and Indian markets tumbled shedding 2187 points or 3.68% to close at 57276.94 as investors dumped risky assets amid rising bond yields in US.
In the broader markets, the S&P BSE Midcap index closed at 23942.10 with a week’s loss of 5.98% in yesterday’s trading session much in tune with the benchmark indices. The midcap index touched a week’s low of 23490.16 under the shaky sentiments of the market participants. The S&P BSE Smallcap which logged a 52-week high of 31304.44 on January 18 shed 6.32% of its gains and closed at 28633.52 for the week.

The agrochemical company presented stellar Q3 results with a 78% jump in Consolidated Revenue from Operation of Rs 880 crore on YoY Basis while showing a 112% jump in Consolidated Net profit Rs 102 crore on YoY basis, driving the market sentiment in its favour in contrast to the heavy meltdown in benchmark indices. The stock logged its 52-week high in yesterday’s trading session at Rs 578.35 which is also its all-time high.

The company which is India’s largest SaaS provider in the hospitality and travel industry succumbed to selling pressures after logging its all-time high at Rs 525 on January 18, falling by 30% from its high to close at Rs 365.45 for the week. The stock made a weak debut at the exchanges on December 17, listing at a discount of 15% to its issue price. The stock came under the bear radar as high P/E stocks received a backlash at the markets this week.
