List of top 5 gainers and losers in the Midcap and Smallcap segment for the week from February 24 to March 02, 2023.

The frontline index S&P BSE Sensex declined 0.93% or 554.58 points during the week and closed at 58,909.35 on March 02, 2023.

However, S&P BSE Mid Cap gained during the week by 1.14% at 24,453.47. While, the S&P BSE Small Cap ended at 27,658.21, rising 0.27%.

The biggest gainer in the mid-cap segment for the week was Alok Industries Ltd. Shares of this textile company rose by 13.56% for the week from the levels of Rs 12.24 to Rs 13.9. The shares of textile companies jumped as the cotton prices fell about 40% from the last year’s high of Rs 50,530 per bale to Rs 29,910 per bale.

The top 5 losers from the Midcap segment for this week are as follows:

 The laggards of the midcap segment were led by Rajesh Exports Ltd. The shares of this gold products manufacturer and exporter fell 9.49% from Rs 693 to Rs 627.2. Rajesh Exports Ltd is headquartered in Bangalore and is involved in Extensive global manufacturing of gold and gold products and marketing network with distribution through Exports, Wholesale and directly to consumers by its own retail brand. It refines over 35% of world's gold.

 The top gainer in the smallcap segment Monarch Networth Capital Ltd. Shares of this company rose by 20.16% for the week from the levels of Rs 195.65 to Rs 235.1. Monarch Networth Capital Limited is a provider of financial services in pure stock broking, primary market operations, mutual funds, insurance and financial planning. It is a strategic amalgamation of two financial service providers Monarch Group of Companies and Networth Stock Broking Ltd.

 The top 5 losers in the Smallcap segment for this week are as follows:  

The losers of smallcap space were led by Share India Securities Ltd. The shares of this construction company fell from Rs 1176.83 to Rs 1046.55registering a loss of 11.07% in the stock price. The company is raising up to Rs 804 crore through the rights issue. The issue will open on March 9 and will be available for subscription till March 13.
