This week the Benchmark Index S&P BSE Sensex showed some signs of relief in absence of any major news that would’ve shaken the market. On 17th June it closed at 51360.42 and closed for the week at 52265.72 which is higher by 1.76 per cent.
The S&P BSE Mid Cap closed at 21474.82 up 0.84 per cent for the week. The S&P BSE Small Cap closed at 24136.33 up by 1.60 per cent.

ITI Ltd. was the biggest gainer in the mid-cap segment for the week. The shares of the company delivered a weekly return of 30.22 per cent from the levels of Rs 82.55 to Rs 107.5. Even though there were no major announcements, the shares of the telecommunication company have been witnessing positive action at lower levels.

The top gainer in the Smallcap segment was Spandana Sphoorty Financial Ltd. The stock surged 24.2 per cent for the week from the levels of Rs 321.55 to Rs 399.35. The shares of Spandana Sphoorty rallied on the news of a settlement with its promoter and founder managing director Padmaja Reddy. The MFI informed in its exchange filing on June 22 that its board members along with its subsidiaries - Criss Financial Limited and Caspian Financial Services Limited, have approved a settlement agreement resolving all pending disputes. The shares of Spandana Sphoorty closed at Rs 399.35, still at a considerable discount to its 52-week high of Rs 745 logged a year ago.

The losers of small cap space were led by Dhanvarsha Finvest Ltd. The shares of the company fell from Rs 76.5 to Rs 63.1 registering a loss of 17.52 per cent in the stock price. On 17th June, it informed that Mrs. Minaxi Mehta has resigned as Non-Executive Non-Independent Director of the Company and she will be replaced by Mrs. Rushina Mehta as Non-Executive Non-Independent Director of the Company.
