With renewed hopes of a war truce, lockdowns in China due to the latest outrage of Covid resulted in the cooling of Crude Oil prices. While the week saw the 9th price hike in 10 days in petrol and diesel totalling Rs 6.40. Amid much volatility, benchmark indices BSE Sensex closed up 1.69% or 973 points at 58568.51 while Nifty 50 gained 97 points or 0.59% and closed at 16594.90.
The broader market also witnessed volatility with S&P BSE Mid Cap closing at 24107.97 up 0.97% or 232 points for the week. The S&P BSE Small Cap closed at 28215.65 up 1.16% or 323 points.

The bull rally was led by Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd. in the mid-cap segment. The shares of the company delivered a weekly return of 22.38% from the levels of Rs 323.9 to Rs 396.4. The real estate and infrastructure development business of Mahindra Group rallied in yesterday’s session by 11.30% to log its 52-week high at Rs 410.55, which is also the all-time high for the real estate developer.

The company announced yesterday that the National Company Law Tribunal, Chandigarh Bench has sanctioned the Scheme of Amalgamation filed by the company comprising of amalgamation of VMT Spinning Company and Vardhman Nisshinbo Garments Company with itself.
