Bharti Airtel Ltd gave a robust Q4 performance - MD and CEO, Gopal Vittal highlights the following points in his remarks.

Gopal Vittal spoke separately about each business segment and what led to its success. Concerning their broadband business, he said, they will see resilient sequential revenue growth driven by strong customer additions and he believes that this category will grow to over 40 million homes by 2025 and they are well dignified to achieve it.

He mentioned that their DTH business is still progressing. While the category continues to see a significant long-term opportunity for upgradation from cable, it’s also a classic case of an industry that has suffered due to excessive regulation. But they are determined to tackle all issues and expand this segment.

Regarding the Airtel Business, Gopal Vittal said that it is a jewel in their portfolio and has been constantly delivering growth and they will continue to outperform their peers and expand market share. He said that their entire go-to-market organization has been reorganized, to enable them to go both wide, which is to expand their presence everywhere.

On the mobile segment, Gopal Vittal stated that the industry has seen relatively lower net additions in this quarter due to two reasons; first, some SIM consolidation at the lower end. This is on the feature phone segment, second, some moderation on 4G net adds, primarily due to shortages in semiconductors and rising costs of these chipsets.

As a result, several OEMs have placed greater prominence on prioritizing higher-priced smartphones. Regardless of these trends they've been able to add just over 5 million 4G customers and crossed the 200 million milestone.

Further, Gopal Vittal gave a few reasons as to why he believes they are confident about the future.

The first reason is their execution, they managed to resolve all the difficulties caused by the pandemic and grew the market share of each of their business segment to reach lifetime highs.

The second reason is their future-proof business model. He added that Airtel at its core has a three-layered business model. The first is their digital infrastructure. The second is their digital experience and the third is their digital services. Each layer gives them the right to win and succeed.

The last reason for their success is their work in the ESG sector.

Gopal Vittal concluded by saying that they have a business model that is structured well to discover the growth opportunities in India.
