At market close on Monday, the Sensex ended marginally lower at 55,675.32, down by 93.91 points or 0.17% and the Nifty 50 closed at 16,569.55, down by 14.75 points or 0.09%.
A total of 3557 shares were traded on the BSE, out of which 1429 shares have advanced, 1970 shares have declined and 158 shares are unchanged. Almost 72 stocks have made a fresh 52-week high and 75 stocks have hit their 52-week low today.
The top trending stocks on the BSE were Dalmia Bharat, Hindustan Petroleum, Oil India, Aegis Logistics, and JK Cement.
These stocks are likely to be in focus for Tuesday's trading session -
Tata Motors: The company secured an order for the supply of 10,000 XPRES-T EV units from BluSmart Electric Mobility. The deployment of 10,000 units makes this the biggest ever EV fleet order in India, the company stated. These vehicles are an addition to the 3,500 XPRES-T EV order, which was signed by both the companies in October last year, and will be used across the country for commuters. The deliveries of these vehicles will begin soon. The company has already covered 50 million clean kilometres and delivered over 1.6 million zero-emission rides with an elevated customer experience. The shares of Tata motors ended higher by 0.11% on the BSE.
Bajaj Auto: The Pune-based two-wheeler maker reported a 59% increase in domestic sales for May 2022. The company sold 96,102 units in May 2022 against 60,342 two-wheelers in the corresponding month last year. The number was slightly better than its April 2022 sales where the company sold 93,233 units in India. While the domestic sales witnessed a growth, exports declined by 15% during the same period. Bajaj Auto exported 1,53,397 two-wheelers to the overseas markets in May 2022 as against 1,80,212 units in May last year. The shares of the company ended 4.03% higher, at Rs 3818.45 on the BSE.
