At market close on Thursday, the Sensex ended at 55,818,11 up by 436.94 points or 0.79% and the Nifty 50 was closed at 16,628 up by 105.25 points or 0.64%.
A total of 3444 shares were traded on the BSE, out of which 1970 shares have advanced, 1339 shares have declined and 135 shares are unchanged. Almost 67 stocks have made a fresh 52-week high and 44 stocks have hit their 52-week low today.
The top trending stocks on the BSE were Adani Enterprises, Century Textiles, Fine Organics Industries, Wipro, Mahindra Lifespaces, and Finolex Cables.

Cipla Limited: Cipla has announced the commercial operation of an additional capacity captive renewable energy power plant in Maharashtra & Karnataka. In January 2021, Cipla had commissioned a 30 MWp solar project at Tuljapur, and now further added 16 MWp of solar capacity for supplying the renewable energy for its manufacturing units/facilities in Maharashtra. These projects have been commissioned in partnership with AMP Energy India and is one of the largest solar open access projects in the state set up by a corporate. The project will support the Company’s green energy requirements for its manufacturing units at Kurkumbh and Patalganga and R&D centre at Vikhroli in Maharashtra, replacing around 70% of total consumption for these units with green energy. The shares of Cipla ended higher by 0.11%, at Rs 984.20, on the BSE.
Apollo Hospitals Limited: The scrip of Apollo Enterprises was down by almost 6% at Rs 3623.75 on the BSE. The company's quarterly consolidated financials reveal that the operating profit for Q4FY2022 is Rs 493.96 Crore as compared to the operating profit of Rs 432.38 Crore for Q4FY2021, an increase of 14.27%. Net sales for the Q4FY2022 stand at Rs 3546.43 crore recording an increase of 23.66% as compared to the net sales of Rs 2867.95 crore in the same quarter last year. The net profit has decreased and stands at Rs 93.99 crore since the same period which was at Rs 152.77 crore in Q4FY21, lower by 38.48%. The shares of the company ended 5.05% lower on the BSE.
