On Thursday, the frontline equity indices, i.e., Sensex and Nifty corrected even more as the first month of the year comes to an end amid various weak global cues and the upcoming Union Budget on February 1, 2022.
At close, the Sensex was down by 581.21 points or 1% at 57,276.94 and the Nifty was down by 167.80 points or 0.97% at 17,110.15.
On the BSE, about 1480 shares have advanced, 1884 shares declined, and 91 shares are unchanged.

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Limited: Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Inc., USA (Glenmark) has received final approval by the United States Food & Drug Administration (U.S. FDA) for Bisoprolol Fumarate and Hydrochlorothiazide Tablets USP, 2.5 mg/6.25 mg, 5 mg/6.25 mg, and 10 mg/6.25 mg, the generic version of Ziac®1 Tablets, 2.5 mg/6.25 mg, 5 mg/6.25 mg, and 10 mg/6.25 mg, of Teva Branded Pharmaceutical Products R&D, Inc. According to IQVIATM sales data for the 12 months ending November 2021, the Ziac® Tablets, 2.5 mg/6.25 mg, 5 mg/6.25 mg, and 10 mg/6.25 mg market achieved annual sales of approximately US$ 30.3 million*. The scrip was down by 2% at Rs 476.35, at market close.
L&T Infotech Limited: Larsen & Toubro Infotech has partnered with IIT Madras for collaborative research in the field of 5G. Through this collaboration, LTI and IIT Madras will innovate the emerging 5G space and enable 5G frameworks validation, low-frequency RF deployments and use case testing with a 5G testbed. As part of this partnership, LTI and IIT Madras will promote research towards the development of low-cost, low frequency 5G network setup for better connectivity in rural India. The key objective of this effort is to create a 5G base station and single-box solution to enable rural connectivity. The shares of LTI were down by 4.81% at Rs 5742.95, on the BSE, on Thursday.
Bharat Electronics Limited: Bharat Electronics Limited and Hyperion Global Group, LLC, a US-based telecommunication distribution company, have entered into a contract to develop, manufacture and supply Internet of Things (IoT) devices for the US market. As per the contract, BEL will manufacture and supply IoT devices worth US$ 73 million to Hyperion during the first year of commencement of supply with a provision to negotiate and supply upgrades of the products, worth US$ 365 million, in the next five years. The scrip of BEL was up 0.29% at Rs 204.85 at market close.
52-week high stocks – From the BSE 500 pack, the stocks of TV 18 Broadcast, RHI Magnesita NV, Bharat Dynamics, Lakshmi Machine, Maruti Suzuki, Power Grid Corporation, Triveni Turbines, and Hitachi Energy also have hit their 52-week high on Thursday.
