On Wednesday, the frontline equity indices, i.e., Sensex and Nifty slipped even further with Nifty leaving the 18,000-level mark.
At close, the Sensex was down by 656.04 points or 1.08% at 60,098.82 and the Nifty was down by 174.65 points or 0.96% at 17,938.40.
On the BSE, about 1579 shares have advanced, 1827 shares declined, and 89 shares are unchanged.

Lupin Limited: Global pharma major Lupin Limited (Lupin) today announced that it has entered into a partnership with Shenzhen Foncoo Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd (Foncoo). This is Lupin’s first partnership arrangement in China and reinforces Lupin’s commitment to bringing high quality generic and complex generic medicines to patients around the world. The scrip was up by 1.85% at Rs 959.95, at market close, on the BSE.
Jubilant Foodworks Limited: Jubilant Foodworks Limited (JFL), India’s leading food services player, has launched the iconic US Fried Chicken brand Popeyes® in India, with the grand opening of its first restaurant in Bengaluru today. Popeyes®, best known for its spicy New Orleans style fried chicken & Chicken Sandwich, aims to delight Indian guests with the bold and delicious flavours of its Louisiana-style chicken. The shares of Jubilant Foodworks were 1.16% down at Rs 3744 on the BSE.
Cholamandalam Investment and Fin Co Limited: Cholamandalam Investment & Finance Company Limited (Chola), the financial services arm of Murugappa Group, while consolidating its position as a leading player in the Vehicle Finance, Loan against Property, and Housing Finance businesses, launched the following three new business divisions in the Consumer and SME eco-system namely, Consumer & Small Enterprise Loan (CSEL), Secured Business & Personal Loan (SBPL), SME Loan (SME) on Wednesday. The scrip was down by 0.22% at Rs 611.20, at day end.
52-week high stocks – From the BSE 200 pack, the stocks of Tata Elxsi, Adani Green Energy, Trent, Adani Transmission, and Bajaj Finance have hit their 52-week high on Wednesday.
