At close, the Sensex was up by 533.15 points or 0.8% at 61,150.04 and the Nifty was up by 156.60 points or 0.87% at 18,212.35.
About, 1839 shares have advanced, 1611 shares declined, and 80 shares are unchanged.
The top five gainers on Nifty were Mahindra & Mahindra, Bharti Airtel, Reliance Industries, IndusInd Bank, and ONGC. Whereas the top 5 losers included Titan Company, TCS, Shree Cements, Britannia Industries, and Cipla.

Larsen & Toubro: L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering (LTHE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro, has secured two offshore packages from a prestigious overseas client. The scope of work comprises Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) for new facilities and integration with existing installations. The scrip was 0.67% up, at Rs 1974.20 at market close, on the BSE.
Heidelberg Cement India Limited: Heidelberg Cement India has commissioned a state-of-the-art facility to substitute part of the Fossil Fuels with Alternate Fuels (AF) in cement production. This facility, built at Narsingarh Clinker Unit with an investment of approx Rs 160 million, will enable the company to achieve a Thermal Substitution Rate (TSR) of approximately 5% in the first phase. The project will reduce the company’s carbon footprint by reducing the consumption of conventional fossil fuels and increasing the usage of alternate fuels. This achievement might reduce the CO2 emissions by 42,000 tons per annum. The shares of Heidelberg Cement were at Rs 239.30 up by 0.53% at market close on the BSE.
Mahindra and Mahindra Financial Services Limited: Quiklyz, the vehicle leasing and subscription business vertical of Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Limited (Mahindra Finance/ MMFSL) announced that it will offer the widest range of electric vehicles (EVs) for leasing and subscription to potential customers. Quiklyz is a new-age digital-born vehicle leasing and subscription platform that offers great convenience, flexibility, and choice to customers across Indian cities. The scrip surged to 5.73% at Rs 165.15 at market close on Wednesday.
52-week high stocks – From the BSE 500 pack, the stocks of Blue Dart, Chambal Fertilizers and Chemicals, Deepak Fertilizers, Tata Communications, and Sheela Foam have hit their 52-week high on Wednesday.
