At close, the Sensex was up by 221.26 points or 0.37% at 60,616.89 and the Nifty was up by 52.45 points or 0.29% at 18,055.75.
About 1939, shares have advanced, 1507 shares declined, and 67 shares are unchanged.
The top five gainers on Nifty were HCL Technologies, HDFC Ltd, Adani Ports, ONGC, and Tech Mahindra. Whereas the top 5 losers included Tata Steel, JSW Steel, BPCL, Coal India, and Hindalco.

Aurobindo Pharma Limited: The company announced that its subsidiary CuraTeQ Biologics Pvt Ltd (CuraTeQ) has expanded the scope of its marketing and distribution agreement with Orion Corporation (Orion) to commercialize its biosimilars pipeline to include the Baltic states in Europe. Earlier in 2020, CuraTeQ and Orion had entered into a licensing agreement, granting marketing and distribution rights for CuraTeQ’s biosimilar products under development in the Nordic states, Austria, Hungary, and Slovenia. The stock was 7.39% down, at Rs 719.70 at market close.
Larsen & Toubro Infotech Limited: Larsen & Toubro Infotech Limited has partnered with Securonix, a leader in next-gen Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) company, and Snowflake, a leader in secure cloud workload to strengthen its cybersecurity offerings. The partnership will enhance LTI’s Active eXtended Detection & Response platform (Active XDR) for early detection of internal and external threats, contextualizing and combating threats with advanced intelligence-led hunting operations, and automating incident response time. The shares of LTI were at Rs 7174.15, up by 0.99% at market close on the BSE.
Adani Enterprises Limited: The shares of Adani Enterprises surged to 5.16% to Rs 1850, and recorded a fresh 52-week high on the BSE on Tuesday. With this remarkable feat, Adani Enterprises became the fourth company of the Adani Group to cross Rs 2 lakh crore in market capitalization. The scrip was up by 5.51% at Rs 1848.05 at market close on Tuesday.
52-week high stocks: From the BSE 200 pack, the stocks of Adani Green Energy, Adani Enterprises, SRF, and Astral Ltd have hit their 52-week high on Tuesday.
