At close on Wednesday, the Sensex was up by 657.39 points or 1.14 % at 58,465.97 and the Nifty was up by 197.05 points or 1.14% at 17,463.80.

On the BSE, about 1749 shares have advanced, 1589 shares declined, and 107 shares are unchanged.

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Limited: Glenmark Pharmaceuticals and Canadian pharmaceutical company SaNOtize Research & Development Corporation have announced the launch of its Nitric Oxide Nasal Spray under the brand name FabiSpray® in India; for the treatment of adult patients with COVID-19 who have a high risk of progression of the disease. Glenmark earlier received manufacturing and marketing approval from the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) for NONS as part of the accelerated approval process. FabiSpray® is a Nitric Oxide Nasal Spray, is designed to kill the COVID-19 virus in the upper airways. Shares of Glenmark Pharma were at Rs 501.60, up by 3.41% at market close on Wednesday.

DCB Bank Limited: DCB Bank reported a 22% decline in its net profit to Rs 75.37 crore for the quarter ended in December 2021. The bank had posted a net profit of Rs 96.21 crore in the corresponding quarter of the last year. Total income during the October-December quarter of FY22 also fell to Rs 996.42 crore, as against Rs 1,025.98 crore in the same period of FY21. The stock was down by 1.59% at Rs 86.75, at market close.

Finolex Cables Limited: The income from operations of Finolex Cables rose to Rs 991.54 crore in Q3FY22 compared to Rs 848.95 crore in the same quarter last year. Profit before tax increased marginally to Rs 117.15 crore from Rs 116.71 in Q3FY21. The net profit rose by 15% in Q3FY22 to Rs 95.20 crore. The scrip was up by 2.89% at Rs 500.85 on the BSE.

52-week high stocks – From the BSE 200 pack, the stocks of Maruti Suzuki, Cholamandalam Investment and Fin Co, Bank of Baroda have hit their 52-week high on Wednesday.
