On Wednesday, the benchmark indices ended in green with Nifty closing above 17100 supported by the IT, auto, metal and financial names.
At close, the Sensex was up 619.92 points or 1.09% at 57,684.79, and the Nifty was up 183.70 points or 1.08% at 17,166.90. About 1859 shares have advanced, 1323 shares declined, and 130 shares are unchanged.
On the sectoral front, except pharma, all other sectoral indices ended in the green with metal indices gaining over 2%. In the broader markets, the BSE midcap index rose 1% and smallcap index added 0.27%.

Tata Power - Tata Power Solar Systems, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Power, has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd. (SECI) to build 100 MW EPC Solar projects along with 120 MWh Utility-Scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The total contract value of the project is approximately Rs 945 crore. The project will be executed within 18 months. Tata Power Company ended the trading session at Rs 225.20, up by Rs 8.4, or 3.87% on the BSE.
Mahindra & Mahindra - Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (M&M Ltd.), one of India’s leading automotive companies, announced that its overall auto sales (including passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles and exports) for November 2021 stood at 40,102 vehicles. In the Utility Vehicles segment, Mahindra sold 19,384 vehicles in November 2021, registering 8% growth. The passenger vehicles segment (which includes UVs, Cars and Vans) sold 19,458 vehicles in November 2021. Meanwhile, exports for November 2021 were at 3,101 vehicles. The stock has ended 0.22% higher at Rs 837.30
