On Thursday, the domestic benchmark indices settled on a positive note amid exhibiting volatility during the trading session.
At close, the Sensex was up 157.45 points or 0.27% at 58,807.13, and the Nifty was up 47 points or 0.27% at 17,516.80. About 2046 shares have advanced, 1153 shares declined, and 115 shares are unchanged.
Apart from bank and realty all other sectoral indices ended in the green, with FMCG, oil & gas and capital goods indices zooming beyond 1% each. BSE capital goods index grew 1.98% on an intraday basis and ABB India was the top gaining stock jumping 10.02% on Thursday.
In the broader markets, BSE midcap and smallcap indices ended in the green.

Dr Reddy’s Laboratories – The company has announced the launch of Valsartan Tablets, USP, a therapeutic equivalent generic version of Diovan (valsartan) tablets, a medication used to treat high blood pressure, heart failure, and diabetic kidney disease, approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA). The stock has traded flat on Thursday and is likely to be in focus on Friday.
Vedanta - The board of directors of Vedanta on December 11, 2021, will consider and approve a second interim dividend on equity shares, if any, for the FY22. The record date to determine the entitlement of the equity shareholders for the said dividend, if declared, is being fixed as December 18, 2021. The stock has gained 2.06% in Thursday’s trading session.
52-week high stocks – From the BSE 200 pack, the stocks of ABB India, Adani Gas & Transmission, Bajaj Holding, Vodafone Idea, Zee Entertainment Enterprises and Glaxosmithkline Pharmaceuticals have touched fresh 52-week high prices. Keep a watch on them in Friday’s trading session.
