On Monday, Nifty50 opened higher on the back of strong global trends. In this post, we have highlighted top stocks that are experiencing a strong price volume breakout.
Nifty 50 began trading higher on Monday at 18,033.15 compared to last week’s closing of 17,956.6. This was due to strong global trends. Leading Wall Street indices ended higher on Friday, reflecting the first round of earnings from large banks. On Friday, Nasdaq Composite rose 0.7%, Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.3%, and S&P 500 advanced 0.4%.
Markets are still analysing Consumer Price Index (CPI) data, which showed that inflation pressures eased in December for the sixth successive month. Following the lead of Wall Street, Asian indices largely advanced. Except for Japan's Nikkei 225, all Asian indices were trading in green.
Nifty 50 was trading at 17,966.85 at 10:25 a.m., up 10.25 points or 0.06%. Broader market indices outpaced frontline indices. Nifty Mid-Cap 100 index increased by 0.21%, while Nifty Small-Cap 100 index increased by 0.31%.
On the BSE, the advance-decline ratio was favourable, with 1860 stocks rising, 1406 falling, and 178 staying unchanged. Except for the metal, auto, media and pharma sectors, all other sectors are trading in the green.
According to January 13 statistics, FIIs were net sellers while DIIs were net purchasers. Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) sold Rs 2,422.39 crore worth of shares. Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) invested Rs 1,953.4 crore in shares.
