L&T construction arm bags a large order from Odisha Government

In the current quarter, the Buildings & Factories (B&F) business of L&T has secured some prestigious orders.
Larson and Tubro said in an exchange filing that the construction arm for its Buildings a Factories business has secured a large order from the Government of Odisha to construct clinical blocks and allied infrastructure for a state-of-the-art hospital in Cuttack. The duration of this EPC project is 30 months.
Larsen & Toubro (L&T) is a major technology, engineering, construction, manufacturing and financial services conglomerate, with global operations. The recent EPC project from the Government of Odisha which is categorized as large order falls in the range of Rs 2500 to 5000 crore.
The project involves the construction of four clinical blocks (B+G+9 floors) comprising composite structural systems and other ancillary buildings with a total built-up area of 3.4 mn sqft. The facility will cover speciality departments such as Neurology, Nephrology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Hematology, Hepatology, Cardiology, Surgical blocks, Casualty, trauma and general surgery with a total of 2058 beds.
The scope of work includes Design and Execution of Architecture, Structure including Composite System, Electrical, VHT, ELV Systems, VHT, Landscape, FAS, CCTV, ACS, AV and AMS and includes maintenance for five years.
In the current quarter, the Buildings & Factories (B&F) business of L&T has secured some prestigious orders including one from DRDO to construct their Flight Control System Facility at ADE, Bengaluru for construction of a 1.2 lakh sq ft on fast track timeline of four months. Another large order from the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) to construct Common Central Secretariat Integrated Buildings 1, 2 and 3 in Plot 137, New Delhi with a built-up area of approx. 48.11 lakh sqft including its Operation & Maintenance. Then it has also won an order for construction of office space at Hyderabad with an approximate built-up area of 20 lakh sq. ft on fast-track timelines, scheduled to be completed in 14 months.
The engineering and construction major had reported a good second quarter as the industry makes recovery from the Pandemic hit recession, and after experiencing many headwinds. The shares of L&T have hit a 52-week high on November 15 at Rs 1982.95 and currently trading at Rs 1853 today at 11.55 am
