Low Price Shares locked in Upper Circuit on May 10

Indian benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading sideways amid weak global sentiments. On the other hand, Rupee hit an all-time low point, falling by 51 paise to 77.41 against the dollar. Foreign investors have pulled out USD 17.7 billion already. Also, Life Insurance Corporation of India’s IPO has received a good response as the offer was subscribed 2.95 times, as per the subscription data available on exchanges.
At 11:40 am, the market strength was very poor as 1459 equities increased on the BSE, whereas 1679 declined, and 141 shares remained unchanged. Around 153 stocks are locked in the upper circuit, whereas 210 were in their lower circuit. In the case of domestic indices, the Sensex was trading at a level of 54,556.71, up by 0.16%, and the Nifty 50 was trading at 16,314.80, up by 0.09%.
BSE Midcap index was trading at a level of 22,515.38, down by 0.78%. The top gainers of the index were General Insurance Corporation of India, JSW Energy Ltd and Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd. The top stocks dragging the index down were Oil India Ltd, Voltas Ltd and Adani Power Ltd. All of these stocks were down by more than 5%.
BSE Smallcap index was trading at 26,545.27, down by 0.36%. The top gainers were Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers and Chemicals, Asian Granito India and Craftsman Automation Ltd. The top stocks pulling the index down were Birla Tyres Ltd, Privi Speciality Chemicals and Kamdhenu Ltd. All of these stocks fell by more than 8%.
