Indian equity market is trading higher today, owing to positive global cues.

Life Insurance Corporation of India, Jubilant Foodworks, Sun Pharma, Aurobindo Pharma, Campus Activewear, IRCTC, Coffe Day Enterprises, Delhivery, Dhampur Sugar, Dhani Services, Dish TV, Dixon Technologies, Jindal Steel & Power, Lux Industries, Medplus Health, Natco Pharma, Prudent Corporate Advisory Services, Radico Khaitan, SpiceJet will release their quarterly results today.

On Friday, US indices closed higher amid positive global cues. Today, shares in Asian markets too surged amid major economic data this week. Japan’s Nikkei 225 and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng advanced more than 2%. SGX Nifty also indicated a positive opening with a gain of 121 points.

Expectedly, in India, the market strength was very good as 2,376 equities increased on the BSE, whereas 878 declined, and 149 shares remained unchanged. Around 298 stocks are locked in the upper circuit, whereas 180 were in their lower circuit.

At 11:25 am, the Indian benchmark indicator Sensex was trading at a level of 56,021.74, up by 2.07%. The top gainers of Sensex were HCL Technologies Ltd, Mahindra and Mahindra and Infosys Ltd. BSE Midcap index was trading at a level of 22,935.86, rose by 1.86%. BSE Smallcap index was trading at 26,148.67, advanced by 2.06%. The Nifty 50 was trading at 16,671.35, up by 1.95%. The top-performing companies were Mahindra and Mahindra, HCL Technologies, and Infosys Ltd.

On the sectoral front, all of the sectoral indices were trading in the green territory with BSE IT, BSE Realty and BSE Teck were the top-performing sectors. Sectors lagging behind were BSE Metal and BSE Healthcare.
