Low Price Shares locked in Upper Circuit on Jun 17

Domestic equity bourses are trading lower dragged by consumer durables and IT stocks. Shares in Asian markets were trading lower following sharp declines on the Wall Street. Most of the leading global indicators plunged amid recession fears. Australia’s ASX All Ordinaries fell by more than 2%.

On the flip side, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was trading upwards as shares of major US listed Chinese companies traded higher in Hong Kong markets. Bank of Japan is set to release its monetary policy statement today.
SGX Nifty indicated a positive opening with a gain of 63 points. In contrast, at 12:00 pm, the Indian benchmark indicator Sensex was trading at a level of 51,205.03, declining by 0.56%. Reliance Industries Ltd, Tata Steel and Bajaj Finserv were the top gainers whereas Titan Company Ltd, Wipro and Tata Consultancy Ltd were market draggers.
The Nifty 50 was trading at 15,272.00, falling by 0.58%. On the Nifty 50 index, stocks trading in green were JSW Steel, Coal India and Tata Steel Ltd whereas the top losers were Titan Company Ltd, Wipro and Tata Consultancy Ltd. The rupee strengthened by 6 paise to 78.04 against the US dollar in the opening trade on easing crude oil prices.
