The share prices of NTPC and Tech Mahindra will be under focus on Thursday, October 31, as both stocks trade ex-dividend on this day.

NTPC Dividend Details

On 24 October, the board of NTPC approved an interim dividend of ₹2.50 per equity share of face value of ₹10 each for FY 2024-25. The payout works out to 25% based on the face value of the share. The record date for qualifying for this dividend is November 2, with the dividend payable on November 18, 2024. NTPC had earlier declared a final dividend of ₹3.25 per equity share for FY 2023-24, which was paid in September 2024 after its annual general meeting held in August.

Tech Mahindra Dividend Details

Tech Mahindra announced an interim dividend of ₹15 per equity share of face value of ₹5, translating to a payout of 300%. This will be paid out from November 1, when the record date for determination of shareholders eligible for such an interim dividend will be created, and it will be fully paid by November 17, 2024.

Besides, Infosys, Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders, and CRISIL stocks will draw investor focus in the wake of ex-date for several companies falling, bonus issues or any action for the coming days. More than 25 will go ex-dividend during dividends, bonus issues and stock splits in the coming five days.

October 28: Reliance Industries (1:1 bonus), Elecon Engineering (₹0.50/share), ICICI Lombard (₹5.50/share), Ksolves India (₹8/share).

October 29: Infosys (₹21/share), Route Mobile (₹6/share).

October 30: CRISIL (₹15/share), Gabriel India (₹1.75/share), Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders (₹23.19/share), Supreme Industries (₹10/share).

October 31: NTPC (₹2.50/share), Tech Mahindra (₹15/share), Balkrishna Industries (₹4/share), Bhansali Engineering Polymers (₹1/share), Birlasoft (₹2.50/share), Ceenik Exports (₹15/share), Dodla Dairy (₹3/share), Godrej Consumer Products (₹5/share), R R Kabel (₹2.50/share).

Besides, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories among others are scheduled for ex-dividend next week with Jubilant Industries and Shangar Decor going ex-dividend after announcing an amalgamation and a rights issue, respectively.

Understanding Ex-Date and Record Date

Ex-Date: The last date on which a buyer can purchase shares to qualify for the dividend. Purchases after this date do not qualify for dividend benefits.

Record Date: The company finalizes its list of eligible shareholders based on this date. Investors holding shares as of the ex-date are included.
