Adani Power Q1 Results Highlights: Net Profit Drops 55% YoY to ₹3,900 Cr

Adani Power has reported a 55% drop in its net profit, amounting to ₹3,900 crore for the year, down from ₹8,759 crore during the same period last year. However, the company's revenue saw a 36% year-on-year increase, rising to ₹14,717 crore from ₹11,005 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Adani Power Q1 Results Highlights

Adani Power has announced a 55% decrease in its net profit, amounting to ₹3,900 crore for the year, down from ₹8,759 crore during the same period the previous year.

The company’s revenue increased by 36% year-on-year, reaching ₹14,717 crore, compared to ₹11,005 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. This growth coincides with robust power demand across India, with overall power demand in the first quarter rising by 10.6% year-on-year, and peak demand surging by 12% to a record 250 GW.

Adani Power noted in its exchange filing, "The favorable environment for the power sector has led to higher offtake from APL's power plants, covering both contracted and open capacities."

As a private thermal power producer, Adani Power boasts a thermal power capacity of 15.25 gigawatts (GW) and operates a 40 MW mega solar plant in Naliya, Bitta, Kutch, Gujarat.

As of 3:26 pm IST, Adani Power's stock was slightly down, trading at ₹726.15 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). With no analysts currently covering the stock, it has no buy, hold, or sell ratings. The stock’s market capitalization stands at ₹2.8 lakh crore.

The consolidated power sale volume for the first quarter of FY25 was 24.1 billion units (BU), marking a 38% increase from 17.5 BU in Q1 FY24, driven by heightened power demand and greater effective operating capacity.

Adani Power CEO S B Khyalia in the statement said, "As Adani Power grows from strength to strength, we have undertaken advance development activities to secure execution pipelines for three ultra-supercritical projects of 1,600 MW each to prepare ourselves for the anticipated resurgence in the thermal power sector."
