- Rupee Weakens Against USD: The Indian Rupee opened weaker at ₹85.87 against the US Dollar and further slipped to ₹85.92, registering a decline of 3 paise in early trade. This comes a day after the Rupee recorded its worst single-day fall since February 6, 2023.
- Dollar Index Strengthens: A surge in the US Dollar index, driven by a sharp rise in US bond yields by over 20 basis points, added pressure on the domestic currency. The dollar index was trading 0.28% lower at 102.96 as of 9:15 AM IST, following Monday’s strong gains.
- Support from Easing Crude Prices: Crude oil prices remained subdued amid rising global trade tensions, helping limit further depreciation in the Rupee. Brent crude was up 1.2% at $64.98 per barrel, while WTI crude gained 1.30% to $61.49 per barrel, still hovering near a four-year low.
