Bajaj Finserv Limited (BFS) is the holding company for the Bajaj Group's different financial services operations. It provides asset acquisition solutions through financing, general insurance, family protection and income protection in the form of life and health insurance, and retirement and savings solutions to millions of consumers in the financial services industry.
On March 25, 1987, Bajaj Auto Finance Limited was established as a non-banking financial organisation primarily offering two and three-wheeler finance. Bajaj Auto Lending Ltd launched its initial public offering of equity shares after 11 years in the auto finance business. It was listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange of India. Around the turn of the twentieth century, the firm entered the consumer durables finance market and began issuing small-size loans at zero interest rates. Bajaj Auto Finance expanded into company and property loans in the following years.
The company's assets under management surpassed INR 1,000 crore in 2006 and are now at INR 52,332 crore. The company's registered name was changed from Bajaj Auto Finance Limited to Bajaj Finance Limited in 2010. As of March 2022, the corporation specialises in consumer credit, SME lending, commercial lending, rural lending, deposits, and wealth management.
In addition, it has 294 consumer branches and 497 rural locations, and approximately 33,000 distribution outlets. In the second quarter of fiscal 2017, the company recorded a pre-tax profit of INR 626 crores and a post-tax profit of INR 408 crores, with a ROA of 0.8% and an ROE of 5.1%.
Bajaj Finserv Limited, the parent firm, owns 57.28% of the total shares and controls the subsidiary Bajaj Finance Ltd. Maharashtra Scooters Limited, the Government of Singapore, Smallcap World Fund INC, and AXIS Long Term Equity Fund are other important investors.

Bajaj Finserv Ltd. has various subsidiaries like Bajaj Fin, Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance, Bajaj Allianz General Insurance, Bajaj Allianz Financial Distributors Ltd., Bajaj Finserv Health Ltd., etc. Two of them are explained below :
Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance is a collaboration of Bajaj Finserv and Allianz SE. As one of India's private insurance businesses, it provides insurance solutions for financial planning and security. On August 3, 2001, the company got a certificate of registration from the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) to conduct a life insurance business in India.
Bajaj Allianz General Insurance is an Indian private general insurance firm. Another collaboration between Bajaj Finserv Limited and Allianz SE. It is based in Pune and has offices in over 200 Indian cities, with over 3,500 workers as of 2018.

Consumer Finance and Lending
● BFS is involved in the finance business through Bajaj Finance Ltd. (BFL), a firm that is listed on The Stock Exchange of Mumbai (the BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
● BFL, for its part, has a 100% subsidiary — Bajaj Housing Finance Ltd. ('BHFL' or 'Bajaj Housing') — that is registered as a Housing Finance Company (HFC) with the National Housing Bank (NHB) for its mortgage operations.
● In FY2020, BFL launched its brokerage operations through its 100% subsidiary, Bajaj Financial Securities Ltd. ('BFinsec').
● Bajaj Finserv had a 52.74% stake in BFL at the end of the fiscal year.
Protection and Savings
● These are handled by I Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company Ltd. (BAGIC) for general insurance, which includes health insurance, and (ii) Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company Ltd. (BALIC) for life insurance and retirement plans. Both BAGIC and BALIC are unlisted joint ventures with Allianz SE, one of the world's largest composite insurers.
