Stock Market Holiday for Bakri Eid Shifted to Thursday
Published : 27 June 2023
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) will be closed on June 29 in observance of the upcoming Bakri Eid festival.
The holiday had previously been set for June 28.
It follows the Maharashtra government's decision to move the state's Bakri Id holiday from June 28 to June 29.
For both of the top exchanges in June 2023, this is the only trading holiday. The Bombay Stock Exchange website states that the Equity Segment, Equity Derivative Segment, and SLB Segment will also be closed on Bakrid 2023.
Additionally, all wholesale commodity markets—including those for metal and bullion—will be shut down. The foreign exchange and commodity futures markets won't be open for trading either.
It is crucial to remember that all open orders, including limit orders and stop-loss orders, will be carried over to the day after the holiday's trading halt.
