Budget 2024: Agriculture sector gets ₹1.52 lakh crore allocation

Agriculture has been allotted 1.52 lakh crore.

Farmers will be able to cultivate 109 new, high-yielding, climate-resilient varieties of 32 field and horticultural crops.

Promotion of FPOs, cooperatives, and start-ups for vegetable supply chains, including collecting, storage, and marketing. 

Over the next 2 years, 1 crore farmers will be introduced to natural farming, which would be backed by certification and branding.  

10,000 need-based bio-input resource centers will be developed. 

NABARD will provide financing for shrimp growing, processing, and export. 

Digital Public Infrastructure will reach farmers and their fields in three years.
